The recitation program was held at a special "Quran Tent” set up on the path of Arbaeen pilgrims by the Astan (custodianship) of Imam Ali (AS) holy shrine, the website of the Astan’s Dar-ol-Quran Center reported.
Setting up the tent was part of the Quranic programs planned by the center for the Arbaeen ceremony.
A number of other Quranic figures from Iran and Iraq, also took part in the Quranic programs held in the tent.
Arbaeen marks the 40th day after the martyrdom anniversary of Imam Hussein (AS), the third Shiite Imam.
A few days before Arbaeen, millions of pilgrims start marching toward the holy city of Karbala, which hosts Imam Hussein’s (AS) holy shrine.
They converge on Karbala during the day of Arbaeen, which this year falls on Wednesday, December 2.
