ISIL Claims Responsibility for Assassinating Aden’s Governor
According to al-Alam news network, it posted a statement online saying that its members detonated a car laden with explosives in Baghrib district of Aden as Jafar Muhammad Saad’s convoy passed by.
Saad and five of his bodyguards were killed in the car bomb attack.
ISIL also posted what it said were photos of the booby-trapped vehicle as a white van carrying Saad drove past, then two other photos of a huge ball of fire which it said were taken as the bomb exploded.
The Takfiri group on Friday posted online a video that shows the brutal killing of at least 25 Ansarullah fighters in southwestern Yemen.
Yemen has been under Saudi airstrikes on a daily basis since the regime in Riyadh launched its military aggression against the impoverished nation in late March, in a bid to undermine the Houthi Ansarullah movement and restore power to the fugitive former President Abd Rabbuh Mansour Hadi, a staunch ally of Riyadh.
Exploiting the chaos in Yemen, ISIL, which is mainly operating in Syria and Iraq, has been able to infiltrate the country.
Ansarullah fighters, along with allied army units, are fighting the Takfiris and resisting against the unabated Saudi aggression against war-torn Yemen.
