In an interview with IQNA Ibrahim al-Mousawi described Arabsat’s decision as a political and unjust one.
He said it is a violation of the rights of a Lebanese media outlet and Lebanon as a whole.
According to al-Mousawi, the move comes due to Saud Arabia’s worries about criticisms and exposition of the truth and realities. Saudi Arabia owns Arabsat.
The Islamic Radio & Television Union (IRTVU) has also condemned Arabsat’s move describing it as a failed attempt to hide the truth and destroy the path of resistance.
It referred to al-Manar as a TV network that supports culture, freedom, civilization and regional movements.
The Beirut-based station, al-Manar, said it was an attempt to stifle the "voice in the face of oppression.”
