The forum in a statement referred to verses 21 and 22 of Surah Al Imran "Those who disbelieve in the signs of Allah and kill the prophets without right and kill those who order justice from among the people - give them tidings of a painful punishment. They are the ones whose deeds have become worthless in this world and the Hereafter, and for them there will be no helpers,” and strongly denounced the Saudi regime’s killing of religious figures, especially Sheikh Nimr.
Saudi Arabia executed 47 prisoners on Saturday, including Sheikh Nimr, the Arab country’s interior ministry said in a statement.
Among them were four Shias accused of anti-government protests in recent years.
The executions took place in 12 cities in Saudi Arabia, four prisons using firing squads and the others beheading. The bodies were then hanged from gibbets in the most severe form of punishment available in the kingdom's law.
The World Forum for Proximity of Islamic Schools of Thought in its statement pointed to these killings as well as Saudi crimes in Yemen, Iraq, Syria, Libya and elsewhere, stressing that Divine punishment awaits the Saudi regime.
It called on the Muslim world to form a united front against the Saudi criminals and foil their plots aimed at fomenting discord among Muslims.
