The ideology of the Saudi government – Wahabism -is the same as what ISIL uses to justify its actions, Mohammed al Nimr said in an interview with the BBC.

Mohammed also criticized the West for its short-term alliance with Saudi Arabia.
Sheikh Nimr, along with 46 other prisoners, was executed by the Saudi regime on January 2.
His execution drew widespread condemnation from all over the world and angry protests in different countries.
Sheikh Nimr’s nephew Ali Mohammed Baqir al-Nimr has also been sentenced to death by a Saudi court for taking part in peaceful anti-regime protests.
