Aligarh Muslim University to Host International Quran Conference

TEHRAN (IQNA) - Professor K. A. Nizami Centre for Quranic Studies in Aligarh Muslim University, India, is organizing a two-day International Conference on “Social and Spiritual Teachings of the Quran in Contemporary Perspective” on April 4-5, 2016.

There will be four academic sessions in this conference as rights discourse in the Quran (rights of Allah, Rights of one’s own self and soul, Rights of the fellow human beings), The Quran as lived by the Prophet and the Companions (Social, spiritual and aesthetic aspects), Aesthetic aspects of the Quran and Ulum al-Quran in the light of modern social sciences (Sociology, Psychology, Economics, Education, History etc.)

Aligarh Muslim University to Host International Quran Conference

Session IV is aimed to throw light on how the social sciences can help in an improved understanding and a better and fuller appreciation of the relevant Quranic verses. Papers for this Session are invited from scholars engaged in teaching and research in the area of social sciences. Contributors are expected to highlight the Quranic teachings in the context of principles and findings of their respective social science disciplines.
