"During the times of Prophet Muhammad [PBUH], mosques were used as centers of unity which did away with differences in background, rank, wealth, community, culture and skin color," he said when opening the Al-Madinah Mosque, on Friday.

The arrival of the Raja Muda of Perlis, who is also Perlis Islamic Religious and Malay Customs Council president, was received by Phuket Islamic Religious Council president Abdul Malik Hussin and mosque imam Ustaz Mohd Saudri Mohd Din.

He said mosques must symbolize unity and the strength of Muslims and portray the actual Islamic image which loves peace.
