His Eminence made the remarks in an address to the Iranian Air Force and Air Defense commanders and personnel in Tehran on Monday
The rallies slated for February 11 across the country will mark the 37th anniversary of the 1979 Islamic Revolution’s victory.
The Leader praised the presence of people in previous years’ demonstrations on February 11 and said this year, too, Iranians will show a remarkable presence in the rallies to disappoint the enemies and ill-wishers.
The Iranian nation, led by the late Imam Khomeini (RA), toppled the US-backed Pahlavi regime 37 years ago on February 11, 1979, ending 2,500 years of monarchic rule and establishing an Islamic Republic in the country.
Every year people commemorate the victory by taking part in rallies all over the country.
The Leader further pointed to the upcoming Parliamentary and Assembly of Experts elections and described votes as infusion of new blood for the country.
His Eminence said massive turnout in the votes will be a renewal of allegiance with the aspirations of the Islamic Revolution.
The participation of all people will ensure the country and Establishment and, therefore, taking part in this great event is a duty for everyone, Ayatollah Khamenei added.
Iranians will go to the polls for the Assembly of Experts and parliamentary elections simultaneously on February 26.
There will be 290 seats in the Iranian parliament and 88 in the Assembly of Experts up for grabs.
Members of the assembly are directly elected to office by people for an eight-year term. It holds biannual meetings to appoint a new chairman.
