A large number of Iranian Quranic officials and figures were present at the ceremony.
They included Head of the Supreme Quran Council Ali Moqaddam, deputy of the council Seyed Ali Sarabi, Deputy Head of the Quran TV Mojtaba Izadi, Director of the Quran Radio Mohammad Hossein Mohammadzadeh, and Quran masters like Sadrzadeh, Emamjome, Bonyadi and Qasrizadeh.

It began with recitation of verses from the Holy Quran by Habibollah Pourahmadi, Mehdi Adeli and Jafar Fardi.
Then a video clip was played on the life of Master Qalwash, his Quranic activities and his trips to the Islamic Republic.
There was also a clip containing messages from Egyptian Quran master Taha Abdul Wahab about Sheikh Qalwash and one featuring Quran recitations by Sheikh Qalwash in the latter months of his life.

Qalwash, who was a renowned Qari and a senior member of
Egypt’s Quran Reciters and Memorizers Association, died on Thursday, February
4, at the age of 77. He had been suffering from an illness for a long time. Born in 1939 into a Quranic family, Qalwash learned the
entire Quran by heart in his early teenage years and started reciting the Quran
in different places at the age of 16. He became an official Qari of Egypt’s national radio and
television at 24. Qalwash travelled to different countries for Quran
recitation. He was among the first Egyptian Qaris who visited Iran after the
victory of the Islamic Revolution in 1979.
