TEHRAN (IQNA) - Members of the Muslim community in Bengaluru, India, on Sunday gathered at the Quddus Saheb Eidgah Maidan on Millers Road in east Bengaluru to denounce terrorism and urge the youth against falling prey into the trap.

There were lectures on the Takfiri group ISIL (Daesh) whose sudden growth has shaken the world. "ISIL is un-Islamic; Islam doesn't encourage terrorism. That organization's ideology is completely contrary to what the Quran and the tradition of Prophet teaches us," Shaik Abdul Haseeb Madani, scholar, said.

He said the Khilafat (Caliphate) that ISIL speaks of is misleading and not what true Islam teaches its followers. "This Khilafat is not the Islamic duty the Quran preaches," he said.

"Today, in the name of religion, many militant groups have taken birth and their propaganda is causing a lot of shame to Muslims all over the world," another scholar pointed out. The conference, they said, aimed at "denuding their ideologies."

On the sidelines of the meet, Zoheb Khan, president, Islamic Information Centre, said: "We would like to guide youngsters who are being misled and help them follow the right path. Notwithstanding our own differences within the community, Islam globally denounces terrorism. The Quran speaks about humanity. The true follower should understand this and not get disillusioned."

Quoting the 32nd Verse of Surah (chapter) 5 in the Quran, another scholar said: "The holy book says that if you kill one person it is like killing the entire humanity and if you save one person, it is like saving the entire humanity."
