Iraq’s Quran TV Channel to Be Launched Tomorrow

TEHRAN (IQNA) – Iraq’s Holy Quran satellite TV network will be official launched ion Wednesday.

Haydar Jilokhan, director of Karbala TV channel, told IQNA that the Quran TV of Iraq has already started its trial broadcast.

The official inauguration of the Quranic channel had been planned earlier but was postponed to this Wednesday due to some technical issues, he said.

Jilokhan added that the TV channel will broadcast programs on daily Quranic issues as well as Quran recitations by top Qaris of Iraq and the Muslim world.

The Astan (custodianship) of Imam Hussein’s (AS) holy shrine in Karbala will cooperate in producing programs for the TV, he stated.

Jilokhan described it as an important move to dispel myths spread by Takfiri and Wahhabi groups that that falsely accuse Shia Muslims of ignoring the Quran.

He went on to say that the Holy Quran satellite TVchannel will broadcast its programs via Nilesat on the 12521 V/27500frequency.
