Iranian Students Residing in 15 Countries to Attend Hamburg Quran Contest

TEHRAN (IQNA) – The first Quran competition for Iranian students living in Europe will be held in Hamburg, Germany.

Islamic Centre Hamburg will host the final stage of the event this Friday, March 4, Mohammad Mehdi Momeni, in charge of the Islamic Republic of Iran’s Schools in Europe and North America, told IQNA.

He said 60 students from 15 European countries including Germany, Britain, Cyprus, France, Albania, Greece, Austria and Serbia will take part in the competition.

It will be held in four categories: Quran memorization, Quran recitation, Quranic concepts and Adhan (call to prayers), he noted.

Three top participants in each category will be awarded at the closing ceremony, Momeni added.

He went on to say that fostering the teachings of the Holy Quran and promoting use of Quranic teachings in everyday life are among the objectives of the contest.
