TEHRAN (IQNA) – The first edition of a national Quran festival for students in Egypt will be held from March 5 to 9 at Al-Minia University in the country's Minya Governorate.
Ashraf Al-Sheikhi, Egypt’s Minister of Higher Education and Scientific Research and Jamaluddin Ali Abumajd, President of Al-Minia University will supervise the religious-Quranic event.
Stressing that the youth should be aware of the challenges threatening the Islamic culture, Abulmajd said that globalization, cultural invasion and extremism are among the most important of such challenges.
The competition on Quranic categories will be organized in oral and written sections.
Encouraging the youth to memorize the Quran, promoting Islamic values in society and developing moral virtues are some of the objectives of the festival.
