Addressing the Fatima Zahra (SA) Conference, he said legislation for this was already underway.
He said the government was making all-out efforts to promote religious
tolerance, interfaith harmony and also taking measures to stop sectarianism. He
said, there was need to promote interfaith harmony to ensure equality,
religious freedom and protection of rights of the minorities in the country.
The government had taken various steps during the last three years to promote
interfaith harmony in the country, the Minister added.
He said that two committees comprising scholars from all schools of thought were constituted to play role for creating understanding among followers of different religions and sects.
The Minister said some anti-state elements wanted to weaken the country by promoting sectarianism and hate, adding that religious scholars should demonstrate unity to strengthen the country.
