TEHRAN (IQNA) – The Quranic Botanic Garden (QBG) in Qatar has launched ‘Fun & Learn’, an educational program designed to teach primary school students in the country about plant life and the environment through various interactive activities.

The initiative is aimed at primary schoolchildren aged 6 to 11, and will be delivered in 20 UNESCO associated schools working under the supervision of the Qatar National Commission for Education, Culture and Science, al-Bawaba news reported.

Fatima Saleh Al-Khulaifi, Project Manager of QBG, said: "We look forward to delivering this program across primary schools in Qatar. ‘Fun & Learn’ has been designed to teach children about plants and the environment in a fun and interactive way. The curriculum will be delivered in Arabic, promoting the language while enabling students to learn more about plant life and the environment.”

The Al Wafa Model Independent School for Boys was selected as the first school to participate in the program, with students taking part in interactive activities such as tree planting, which is aimed at increasing their awareness of tree conservation. An educational booklet was created for ‘Fun & Learn’ to offer students detailed information about plant life and the environment.

According to its officials, the mission of Qatar’s Quranic Botanic Garden is to promote knowledge of the plants, botanical terms, and conservation principles mentioned in the Holy Quran and Sunnah.
