Nat’l Quran Competition Planned for Shias in Bahrain

TEHRAN (IQNA) – The 10th edition of “Rabi-ul-Quran” annual national Quran competition for Bahraini Shia Muslims will be organized in the lunar Hijri months of Sha’ban and Ramadan (June).

According to Qaaf news agency, the organizing committee of the competition announced that registration for the Quranic event is underway and will continue until May 1.

Memorization of the Holy Quran, Tajweed principles, and Quran interpretation are different categories of the competition, to be held for different age groups in Al-Muharraq city, north of the tiny Persian Gulf island country.

In the memorization category, adult participants will compete in the memorization of Surah Al-Hashr, and the youth and children should respectively memorize Surahs Al-Saf and al-Nazi’at.

Al-Noor Interpretation of Quran is the source for the competition in the Quran interpretation category, which will be held for the youth.

In the previous edition, a number of individuals from the Shia region of Saudi Arabia also attended the contest. It is expected that more Quran activists from Al-Sharqiyyah (Shia region of Saudi Arabia) will take part in the competition this year.
