The State Welfare Organization will organize the competition on May 12-17.

Abdol Ghafour Joharchi will compete for Iran at the upcoming Quranic event.
In March, 16 visually-impaired Quran memorizers took part in a competition in Tehran to qualify for the international contest.
Saeed Ali-Akbari was declared the best contestant and Joharchi came second in that contest. Thus Ali-Akbari was announced to be Iran’s representative at the international Quran competition for the visually-impaired.
But he was later selected to compete for Iran at Turkey’s international Quranic event and thus Joharchi replaced him as the country’s Quran memorizer in the visually-impaired Quran contest.
According to the organizers of the first international Quran competition for the visually-impaired, it is held for men only and those willing to take part in the contest are required to be memorizers of the entire Quran.
They need to send an audio file of their recitation of some verses from the Quran along with a certificate showing they are memorizers of the entire Quran.
Each participant can be accompanied by one support person and the travel costs (including airfares, airport transfer and local transportation) as well as accommodation and meals for both will be covered by the organizers of the competition.
