
The sessions were held for two nights by the Astan (custodianship) of the holy shrine of Imam Ali (AS).
It was organized on the occasion of Maba’ath (which marks the anniversary of appointment of Prophet Muhammad (PBUH) to prophethood), quran.imamali.net website reported.
Sadeqi, along with a number of senior Iraqi Qaris including Qassim al-Jabouri and Ali al-Soudani, recited verses from the Holy Quran in the sessions.
The programs also included eulogy recitation and Tawasheeh (religious song) performances.
Quranic activities have significantly grown in Iraq since the 2003 overthrow of former dictator Saddam Hussein.
