Nurul Haq Yahuza, who is competing in the competition's category of recitation, told IQNA that Iran is a leading country in the world in terms of Quranic and Islamic activities.
He said this is his first presence at an international Quranic event and that though he is a memorizer of the entire Quran, too, he is competing in recitation.
"My family members are all memorizers of the Quran,” he noted. "I, too, started learning the Quran by heart at the age of fiver and am now a memorizer of the entire Quran.”
Yahuza added that he will recite the Quran in Master Muhammad Sediq Minshawi’s style when his turn comes in the contest.
The young Ghanaian Quran activist is also a Quran teacher, teaching Quran memorization and recitation in his country.
Elsewhere in his remarks, Yahuza underlined the need for strengthening Muslim unity, saying that the Holy Quran has called on all Muslims to come together and unite.
Only the enemies of Islam benefit from discord and disunity among Muslims, he stressed.
He also urged all young Muslims to learn and memorize the Quran and act upon its teachings in their life.

The 33rd edition of Iran’s international Quranic event kicked off in Tehran on Wednesday, May 11, with the participation of Quran memorizers and reciters from over 70 countries.
The competition, whose motto is "One Book, One Ummah”, will run until Tuesday.
