TEHRAN (IQNA) – The 7th congress for honoring women Quran activists was held in Tehran on Sunday.

21 Quran activists from Iran and eight other countries were honored at the event, which was held at Tehran’s Imam Khomeini (RA) Mosalla (prayer hall) on the sidelines of the 33rd International Quran Competition of the Islamic Republic of Iran.

Fariba Alasvand, Zeynab Sadat Ememi, Ensiyeh Khazali, Elaheh Hadian Rasnani, Fariba Maqsudi, Batul Es’haqian, Maryam Khatib, Khadijeh Solgi, Fatemeh Shirazi, Sosan Shojaei, Fatemeh Alian and Fatemeh Rahmani were the Iranian women whose activities in various Quranic fields were lauded at the event.

The foreign women Quranic activists were from Zaytuna Subhan from Indonesia, Samira Admi Lutuli from Bosnia and Herzegovina, Susan Hassan Abdullah from Yemen, Ala Riyadh Muhammad from Norway, Iman Ali Haji from Bahrain, Islam Balda from Guinea, Diana Tuhfa from Lebanon, and Kawthar Hadi from Iraq.

They have made accomplishments in a range of Quranic fields including teaching, memorization, authoring Quranic books, and conducting research in Quranic and interdisciplinary fields.

The congress is held annually in Iran to appreciate the efforts and achievements made by Muslim women from different countries in Quranic arenas.
