According to Ibar al-Emirat news website, with seven contestants appearing for the final examination, the competition came to an end on Wednesday night.
While the winner is going to be announced at the closing ceremony on Saturday, the media say Bilal Imani from the Netherlands is poised to win the top title.
They say the Dutch Quran memorizer had so outstanding a performance at the competition that even his rivals acknowledged his distinction.
If Imani bags the first prize, he will be the first contender from a European country coming first at DIHQA in its 20 year history.
The contest was held at Dubai Trade and Industry Chamber with the participation of Quran memorizers from 82 countries.
Iranian memorizer of the entire Quran Mojtaba Alirezalu represented the Islamic Republic at the international event.
