TEHRAN (IQNA) – Iran’s representative at Jordan’s 24th international Quran competition described the judgments at the contest as fair.

Speaking to IQNA upon his arrival at Imam Khomeini (RA) International Airport in Tehran on Saturday, Ali Assadi Seyfar said, "In my view, there were no problems in the judgments in this contest and the panel of judges were impartial toward the contestants.”

Assadi Seyfar, who was not among the top rank winners but received a prize as the youngest contender at the competition, was welcomed at the airport upon his return by a number of Quranic officials and figures, including Hassan Mehri, head of the Awqaf and Charity Affairs Organization’s Quranic Affairs Department.

The Iranian memorizer further referred to the level of the competition and said its level was not that high compared to Iran’s international Quran contest, especially in terms of the regulations and order.

The international Quran competition of Jordan was held in the capital city of Amman on June 25-29.

Winners of the contest were awarded at a ceremony organized by the Arab country’s Awqaf and Islamic Affairs Ministry on Friday.

28 Quran memorizers from different Arab and Muslim countries took part in the competition, held at Abdullah bin al-Hussein Mosque in Amman.

Every year during the holy month of Ramadan, which will end on Wednesday this year, various Quran competition are held in Muslim countries at the local, national or international levels.

Jordan, Algeria, the United Arab Emirates, Mauritania, Iraq, and Kuwait are among the countries organizing such contests in Ramadan.
