
According to the International Islamic News Agency (IINA), the Palestine’s al-Azhar Institutes Center organized the competition in cooperation with the World Association of Quran Memorization.
The closing ceremony of the Quranic event was held on July 2 with the participation of Zakariya Al-Agha, member of the executive committee of the Palestine Liberation Organization.
The program was also attended by Yusuf Juma Salama, director of the center, Riyadh Al-Khidhri, head of the center’s board of trustees, members of the board, members of the committee supervising the competition, judges of the competition, and a number of scholars, Muftis and academic figures.
More than 100 Quran activists competed on the memorization of the entire Quran along with Tilawah while observing Tajweed principles for six days.
The main objective of the competition was to encourage people, especially the youth, to memorize the Divine verses and learn reading the Quran.
