
According to the website of the Islamic Culture and Relations Organization (ICRO), he made the remark in a Friday meeting with Seyed Hassan Khomeini, the grandson of the late founder of the Islamic Republic of Iran, in Sri Lanka’s capital of Colombo.
Cardinal Malcolm Ranjith underlined Imam Khomeini’s role in
promoting human values and said one of the main accomplishments of the Islamic
Revolution of Iran was reviving divine values in society.
He added that Islam and Christianity should work together to
uphold divine values in the world.
The Sri Lankan cardinal further referred to the sufferings
of Palestinians and described Israeli occupation of Palestine as a scar on
humanity’s face.
He stressed the need for an end to occupation and restoration
of Palestinian rights in order for establishment of peace in the world.
