Astan of Hazrat Abbas (AS) Holds Summer Quranic Courses in Iraq
TEHRAN (IQNA) – A series of Quran teaching courses for summer season has been organized since July 10 by the Astan (custodianship) of Hazrat Abbas (AS) holy shrine in Karbala and other provinces of Iraq.
According to alkafeel.net, more than 10000 Quran activists and students of Quran Institutes affiliated to the Islamic Teachings Section of the Astan have participated in the educational program.
Quranic sciences and Islamic jurisprudence and ethics are the themes of the courses.
Raising a generation acquainted with the teachings of Quran and Ahl-ul-Bayt (AS) is the main objective of the course.
The number of participants in the annual summer Quranic courses has increased since 2011 when the first edition of the program was held with 150 students.
Quranic activities have significantly grown in Iraq since the 2003 overthrow of former dictator Saddam Hussein.
