Islam, Most Peaceful Religion in World: UNESCO
TEHRAN (IQNA) – The United Nations Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organization (UNESCO) has underlined that Islam is the most peaceful religion in the world.
In a statement released jointly with International Peace Foundation, the UN body declared Islam as world’s most peaceful religion.
It came after six months of studying all religions of the world to find out which one is the most peaceful amongst all.
"After six months of rigorous study and analysis, we have concluded that Islam is the most peaceful religion,” Robert McGee, head of comparative studies wing of International Peace Foundation said in a press conference that was also attended by UNESCO officials.
The UNESCO official stressed that terror attacks being carried out in the name of Islam, including the recent ones in Dhaka and Baghdad, have anything to do with Islam.
"Terror has no religion,” he said, "Islam means peace.”
