Syrian Quran Students Receive “Quranic Permission”

TEHRAN (IQNA) – 50 Syrian Quran students who succeeded to receive Quranic “Ijaza-nama” (permission) were honored in a ceremony in Gaziantep city of Turkey.

According to hqmi.org, the ceremony was organized by the Scholars Association of Syria in cooperation with the Holy Quran Memorization International Organization (HQMI).

It was attended by Sheikh Ihsan Achik, Mufti of Sanliurfa Province, Sheikh Ahmad Jalilak, representative of Dar-ol-Ifta Center of Gaziantep, Muhammad Hawa, deputy of the Secretary General of the Scholars Association, Sheikh Abdul Rahman Al-Ousi, representative of the HQMI and a number of Quran activists of the country.

The Quran students were also awarded trophies and urged to act upon Quranic teachings and disseminate the Quranic culture.

According to the United Nations, over 4.8 million Syrians are refugees outside of Syria due to the ongoing civil war in the Arab country.

Turkey, whose government is said to be supporting the militants behind the civil war in Syria, is the largest host country with over 2.7 million Syrian refugees.
