TEHRAN (IQNA) – The Russian translation of a book on Islamophobia was unveiled at a ceremony in the Russian capital of Moscow.

A number of political, scholarly and religious figures of Russia were present at the ceremony.

Titled "Islamophobia: between Confrontation, Cooperation and Expected Missions,” the book by Ekmeleddin Ihsanoglu discusses 8 major points as pillars of countering Islamophobia.

It underlines the need for global cooperation for uprooting Islamophobia and discrimination against people because of their religion.

The former secretary general of the Organization of Islamic Cooperation (OIC) published the work in English in 2013.

The Russian version was published with the support of Popov Veniamin V, Ambassador, Coordinator of the Group of Strategic vision "Russia-Islamic world”.

Ihsanoglu is a Turkish academic, politician and diplomat who was the secretary general of the OIC from 2004 to 2014.

He is also an author and editor of academic journals and books in English, Turkish and Arabic.
