TEHRAN (IQNA) – Representatives of the Islamic Republic of Iran in international Quran competitions will be honored in a ceremony, an official said.

Head of the Quranic Affairs Center of Iran’s Awqaf and Charity Affairs Organization said the ceremony will be held later in the current Iranian calendar year (ends March 20) for those who have competed for Iran in Quranic events in different countries, Fars reported.

Quranic activities have significantly developed in Iran since the 1979 Islamic Revolution.

Every year, hundreds of Quran competitions and Quranic programs are held in the country at different levels and for different age group.

Also, Iran sends representatives to international Quran competitions in Muslim and non-Muslim countries.

In recent years, Iranian Qaris and Quran memorizers have had an outstanding performance in international Quranic events in countries like Malaysia, Russia, Iraq and Jordan.
