The ministry said the book, which has recently been distributed in mosques and Quran schools contains a lot of errors.

It considered the book, written by Tawfiq Musa and published by Badr Kids Publication, as insulting to Islam and messengers of God, according to al-Bilad newspaper.

It has also ordered prayer leaders of mosques to collect all copies of the book and send them to the ministry.

The Algerian ministry has provided no details as to why it considers the book, which has been written for children and teenagers, insulting.

Algeria is an Arab country in North Africa, bordered by Tunisia, Libya, Morocco, Mauritania, Mali, and Niger, and to the north by the Mediterranean Sea.

The vast majority of the Algerian people, about ninety-nine percent of the population, are Muslims.
