Entitled "Mu’jam al-Qurra al-Misriyyin (collection of biographies of Egyptian Qaris), the work includes the biography of 400 Quran reciters from the North African country.

The pavilion of Lebanon’s Dar al-Mufid Publications at the exhibition has showcased the works, along other Quranic publications.

Murtaza Itimad, who is in charge of the pavilion, told IQNA that the work was published in 2016.

Written by Egyptian scholar Abu Talib Mahmoud, it includes the biography of a number of female Quran reciters as well, he said.

Itimad noted that the role of traditional Quran classes in training Quran reciters and promoting religious and ethical virtues are among the topics highlighted in the book.

It also elaborates on the activities of each Qari and how they affected recitation techniques in Egypt, he said.

He went on to say that a rare copy of Quran in Warsh script- an old script used in North Africa- and several other Quran manuscripts are also among the data-x-items on display at the pavilion.
