TEHRAN (IQNA) – An exhibition is underway in Tehran featuring photos of Jannat al-Baqi cemetery, Hajj rituals and historical sites in the holy cities of Mecca and Medina.

It has been organized at the Iranian House of Photographers on the anniversary of demolition of the historically revered cemetery.

On 8th Shawwal, the 10th month of the lunar calendar, in 1345 AH (After Hijra) that falls on April 21, 1925, Saudi Takfiris razed Jannat al-Baqi (garden of paradise) and pounded its mausoleums and tombs.

The graves of family members of Prophet Muhammad (PBUH) and of his companions were reduced to dust in the operation.

The systematic state-funded demolition of sacred sites continues across Saudi Arabia even to date.
