UAE Int’l Quran Contest: Top 10 Female Memorizers Honored

TEHRAN (IQNA) – The final list of nominees for the 'Most Beautiful Recitation' contest for female Quran activists in Dubai included ten out of 76 full Quran female memorizers who were recognized for their tuneful and perfect Quran recitation.

It was held on the sidelines of the second Sheikha Fatima Bint Mubarak International Holy Quran Competition, a branch of the Dubai International Holy Quran Award (DIHQA).

After 12 straight days of evaluation, the panel of judges announced the top ten winners.

Hadil Khalid of Palestine won the top position apart from the Dh250,000 prize money. Ramla Hassan of Finland ranked second and bagged Dh200,000, while Israa Husam of Bahrain and Noura Muhammad Ahmad of the USA shared the third position and were each rewarded Dh150,000, KTimes reported.

The other top winners included, in turn, Hiba Hassan, (Somalia), Aicha Diallo (Guinea Conakry), Bilghiss Dar (Mauritania), Zainab Ali (Nigeria), Amna Mohamed Ali Mohamed Eltayeb (Libya), Israa Fadi Adra (Lebanon), and Haneen Al Kandari, (Kuwait).

The contestants, who scored (80 per cent) and above, were rewarded with Dh30,000 each while those scoring (70-79 per cent), received Dh25,000 each, and those scoring less than (70 per cent) got Dh20,000 each. Certificates of appreciation and cash prizes were given away to other participants.

The final list of nominees for the 'Most Beautiful Recitation' contest, held on the sidelines of the main competition, included ten out of 76 full Quran female memorizers who were recognized for their tuneful and perfect Quran recitation.

The Moroccan contestant Salma Mohamed mesmerized the audience with her most tuneful recitation, and came first, followed by Zakia Juma of Tanzania and Reem Monther of Jordan who consecutively ranked second and third.

The remaining seven winners successively included Dua Saeed (UAE), Bilghiss Dar (Mauritania), Bushra Ulfath (UK), Sarah Ali (Yemen), Noura Muhammad (USA), Ramla Hassan (Finland), and Hamida Mohammad (Canada).

The competition, which saw the participation of unprecedented 76 full Quran memorizers worldwide, was held at the Cultural and Scientific Association in Al Mamzar area from November 12-24.
