Bushehr to Host Quran Competition for Iran’s Sunni Clerics
TEHRAN (IQNA) – The fifth edition of the Quran competition for Iranian Sunni clerics and seminary students will be held in February.
The southern port city of Bushehr will host the competition, Kamal Geramian, an official with the Islamic Cultural Center in West of Iran said.
He added that the preliminary stage of the contest has concluded in the western province of Kordestan and 20 selected contenders will participate in the final round in Bushehr.
The categories of the contest include Quran recitation, memorization and recitation of the Quran, translation of the Quran, and Quranic concepts, he noted.
Gerami went on to say that the final round will be held on February 26-28.
