‘Fasting Child’ Festival Held in Qatar

TEHRAN (IQNA) – A religious-cultural festival titled “Al-Saim Al-Saqeer” (fasting child) was held in Qatar with the participation of 120 Quran students from 16 Quranic Centers affiliated to the Arab country’s Ministry of Endowments.

 

According to Al-Arab newspaper, the Quranic Sciences Section of the ministry’s Office for Religious Dissemination and Guidance held the program for Qatari children aged 8 to 12.

Malullah ibn Abdulrahman Jabir, director of the office, Sa’eed ibn Sa’d, head of the Quranic section of the ministry and the parents of the students were present in the festival.

The director said that the main objective of the annual festival is to help the children get acquainted with fasting and the rituals and virtues of the holy month of Ramadan.

He encouraged the children to make the best use of the holy month as an opportunity to learn Quran reading, praying and acting upon Islamic ethics.
