Quran Recitation Contest Held in Al-Khalil

TEHRAN (IQNA) – The first stage of a Quran recitation contest titled “Golden Larynxes” was organized on July 24 in Al-Khalil (Hebron), Palestine.

  

According to panet.co, the 12 to 35 year-old Quran activists of the region participated at the Quranic event.

It was held under the supervision of Awqaf (endowments) Office of the city.

Isma’il Abulhalawah, director general of the office, said that the winner of the final stage will be called “Qari of Al-Haram Al-Ibrahimi (Ibrahimi Mosque)”.

He added that the office tries to preserve the tradition of Quran reading and recitation at the 1000-year old mosque.

The first to the third rank-winners will be respectively awarded 1000, 750 and 500 US dollars.
