Registration for Qatar’s Sheikh Jasim Quran Competition to Start Tuesday

TEHRAN (IQNA) – Registration for the 25th edition of “Sheikh Jasim” Quran competition in Qatar will start on Tuesday, October 9.

  

According to Qatar news website, the Ministry of Awqaf (endowments) and Islamic Affairs of the Arab country announced that the registration will continue for two days.

Those interested can sign up for the contest from 8 to 12 a.m. and 4 to 8 p.m. at Abdullah ibn Zayd Al Mahmoud Hall.

The organizing committee of the Quranic event said the competition has been planned for three groups.

Qatari Quran memorizers will compete on memorization of one of the five Juzes (parts) of the Quran, namely Juzes 5, 10, 15, 20 or 25.

Memorization of the entire Quran with observation of Tajweed principles and memorization of the meanings of the terms in the 30th Juz’ of Quran will be the category of the competition for imams of mosques, teachers, Muezzins and famous Qaris.

Expatriate memorizers of the Quran are the third group of the participants.
