Egypt Int’l Quran Contest: Preliminary Round to Begin on December 2

TEHRAN (IQNA) – A competition will be held in Egypt next week to select the country’s representatives in the upcoming international Quran contest.  

 

According to ahlmasrnews website, the preliminary round to select Egypt’s representatives will be held on December 2-3.

Top Quran activists from different provinces of Egypt will take part in this round, which will be held in the categories of memorization of the entire Quran along with Tafseer (Quran interpretation), memorization of the entire Quran, and Tajweed.

The 27th edition of Egypt’s international Quran competition, named after legendary Egyptian Qari Abdul Basit Abdul Samad, is slated to be held in the capital Cairo on February 8-13, according to the country’s Awqaf ministry.

It will have four categories and the fourth one, memorization and Tajweed recitation for Quran activists of Africa, will be introduced for the first time in this edition.
