TEHRAN (IQNA) – Egypt’s grand Mufti said depiction of the messengers of God and some Sahaba (companions) of the Holy Prophet (PBUH) in movies and art works is Haram (not permissible).

Speaking in a televised program on Monday, Shawki Ibrahim Abdel-Karim Allam stressed that it is the unanimous view of Islamic scholars and institutions that such depictions are Haram, al-Masry al-Youm website reported.
Some hadiths have prohibited Muslims from creating visual depictions of the Holy Prophet (PBUH).
