TEHRAN (IQNA) – A portrait of martyred Iranian commander General Qassem Soleimani was painted on a wall of Hazrat Zeynab’s (SA) holy shrine in Damascus, Syria.

According to the representative office of the Islamic Revolution’s Leader in Syria, the painting on the entrance of the northern hall of the holy shrine was completed on January 7.

Portriats of other martyred defenders of the holy shrine have also been painted on the wall.

“The Evening of Ashura”, which is a painting by renowned Iranian artist Mahmoud Farshchian, was due to be painted on the wall but the project was changed after the martyrdom of the Iranian commander.

General Soleimani, the deputy head of Iraq’s Hashd al-Sha’abi (PMU), and a number of their entourage were killed in a strike by American drones near Baghdad International Airport in the early hours of last Friday, January 3.
