Iraq’s PMU Holds Quranic Session to Commemorate Resistance Martyrs
TEHRAN (IQNA) – Iraq’s Hashd al-Shaabi (Popular Mobilization Units or PMU) held a Quran recitation session in Saladin Governorate to commemorate General Qassem Soleiman, Abu Mahdi Al-Muhandis and others recently assassinated in a US drone attack.
The Quranic program was held on January 16 in Balad city by the Quran Section of Hashd al-Shaabi’s Office of Religious Affairs.
Rafid Salih, a commander of the PMU said in the program that Hashd al-Shaabi will continue on the path of martyr Abu Mahdi Al-Muhandis to defend the Iraqi nation and its sanctities.
General Soleimani, Abu Mahdi al-Muhandis, who was the deputy head of the PMU, and a number of their entourage were martyred in a strike by American drones near Baghdad International Airport in the early hours of January 3.
Their funerals drew millions of mourners in various cities in Iran and Iraq.
