Over 38,000 Students Register for Student Quran Contest in Qatar

TEHRAN (IQNA) – The Department of Religious Call and Guidance at Qatar’s Ministry of Awqaf and Islamic Affairs completed the preparations for the launch of the 59th annual school competition in memorizing the Holy Quran for school students (boys and girls).

 

Over 38,000 students from different school levels registered for the competition by January 16, 2020 when the registration was closed.

The competition will start on February 2, through the schedule of tests prepared by the Division for Teaching the Holy Quran for schools affiliated with the Department of the Holy Quran and its Sciences in Administration.

The test schedule will be published in the hope of unity a week before the site of the start of the competition.

The competition recorded a great turnout and wide participation by male and female students every year, as the number of students enrolled in the competition this year reached 38,593 students.

The previous version had been attended by 34,962 male and female students from 404 schools from government and private schools, and community schools.

The competition is held annually in partnership between the Department of Call and Religious Guidance at the Ministry of Awqaf and Islamic Affairs and the Ministry of Education and Higher Education.

The competition is held annually to encourage school students to learn, memorize and recite the Holy Quran.
