In a statement released on Sunday marking the International Day of Conscience, Al-Azhar said the day is an occasion to promote and strengthen solidarity, cooperation and fraternity among all people.
The International Conscience Day is a warning bell that rings every year to address humanity and the international community by returning rights to its people, saving people and stopping bloodshed, it said.
Conscious of the need for the creation of conditions of stability and well-being and peaceful and friendly relations based on respect for human rights and fundamental freedoms for all without distinction as to race, sex, language or religion, the United Nations General Assembly declared 5 April the International Day of Conscience.
