Al-Azhar Offers Condolences over Death of IIFA Secretary

TEHRAN (IQNA) – Egypt’s Al-Azhar Islamic Center issued a statement expressing condolences over the death of Abdul Salam al-Abadi, Secretary of the International Islamic Fiqh Academy (IIFA).

 

In the statement, Al-Azhar described Abadi as a person who spent his life in serving Islamic Sharia and promoting Islamic moderation and tolerance.

Abadi, who was a Jordanian, died in Jeddah, Saudi Arabia, on Monday at the age of 77.  

The International Islamic Fiqh Academy is an affiliate of the Organization of Islamic Cooperation.

OIC Secretary General Yousef Al-Othaimeen also offered his “heartfelt condolences and profound sympathy to the government and people of the Hashemite Kingdom of Jordan, the bereaved family of the deceased, and the whole family of the OIC, particularly the International Islamic Fiqh Academy, praying Allah the Most High to bless the departed with His infinite mercy and accept him in His vast paradise.”
