Waqf (endowment) is among Islamic contracts and is to give a physical property for using its benefits with nothing to receive in return. The word “waqf” is not mentioned in the Quran; but, many hadiths have mentioned its recommendation and have explained its rules. Endowment can be made for a certain person or group, or for a general purpose and for all people.
