Thirty-seven Qaris who made it to the national stage competed virtually in five groups, according to Davoud Jafari, the secretary of this edition.
He said it was held online due to the coronavirus restrictions.
He added that with the conclusion of the semifinal stage, people can now vote for the top Qaris.
Those selected will compete in the finals, slated to be held in February, Jafari went on to say.
Back in November, organizers had said the 5th edition of the Ceremonial Recitations Festival would be held virtually with the participation of Qaris from different countries.
Qaris from Muslim and non-Muslim countries can take part in this edition by submitting their recitations, they said.
