A number of prominent Qaris, memorizers and veteran Quran activists as well as Quranic, religious and cultural officials attended the program, which was hosted by Al-Zahra Husseiniya (religious center) at the Islamic Culture and Relations Organization.
Mohammad Hossein Saeedian, Hadi Movahed Amin, Mehdi Adeli and Ali Akbar Hanifi were among the Qaris who recited verses from the Quran at the event.
Also, the Muhammad Rasul Allah group performed a Tawasheeh song in memory of Martyr Soleimani.
Elsewhere in the program, a statement by Iran’s Quranic community was read out by veteran Quranic figure Habib Mahkam, in which the need to continue the path of Martyr Soleimani was underlined.
In early January this year, a US drone strike authorized by President Donald Trump near Baghdad International Airport killed top Iranian anti-terror commander General Soleimani, the commander of the Quds Force of Iran’s Islamic Revolution Guards Corps (IRGC), and his Iraqi trenchmate Abu Mahdi al-Muhandis, who was the deputy commander of Iraq’s Popular Mobilization Units (PMU), along with a number of their companions.
Iran has vowed revenge for the cowardly assassination of the popular commander.
