Iranian Delegation in Indonesia to Voice Condolences on Death of Shia Figure

TEHRAN (IQNA) – A group of Iranian scholars traveled to Indonesia to meet with family of late Shia figure Jalaludin Rakhmat.

 

The delegation, representing the office of the Leader of the Islamic Revolution and Iranian seminary schools, expressed condolences to the family of Rakhmat, including his son Miftah Rakhmat, on his death.

The scholars also prayed for the departed soul to rest in peace.

Miftah Rakhmat thanked the delegation and underlined the continuation of his father’s path.

Rakhmat was an Indonesian Shia academician and politician from the Indonesian Democratic Party of Struggle who became the member of the People's Representative Council from 2014 until 2019.

He died of COVID-19 on February 15 at the age of 71.  He was buried on the same day at the Rancaekek cemetery in Bandung.

He spent his life in promoting the school of Ahl-ul-Bayt (AS) and defending the oppressed.
