India’s Aligarh Hosting ‘How to Understand the Quran’ Seminar

TEHRAN (IQNA) – India’s Aligarh is hosting a two-day national seminar on ‘How to Understand the Quran’.

 

The two-day seminar has been organized by the K A Nizami Center for Quranic Studies, Aligarh Muslim University (AMU).

Speaking in the inaugural function of the seminar, Prof Zafarul Islam Islahi, former chairman of the university’s Department of Islamic Studies, said, “The Holy Quran is the most comprehensive source of reference for humankind to understand the teachings of Islam. Undeniably, understanding the Quran is a principal and an important aspect in the life of Muslims.”

Prof Zafarul Islam added that the Holy Quran is the book that guides and leads people to the light of faith and knowledge.

The Quranic teachings take people out of darkness and ignorance, he said, according to indiaeducationdiary.in website.

Prof A R Kidwai, Director, K A Nizami Centre for Quranic Studies delivered the welcome address.

Mohammad Mubeen Saleem extended the vote of thanks and Dr Aiyyoob Akram conduct the inaugural function.

The seminar will conclude on March 2.
