Speaking at a press conference in Tehran on Tuesday, Javad Sheikh Akbari said the motto of this year’s event is “Quran, Hope, Life”.
The Quranic plan is annually organized in summer with the aim of promoting memorization of the Holy Book and spreading the Quranic culture in society.
This is the 1455th year since the revelation of the Holy Quran to the Holy Prophet (PBUH) and hence the name ‘1455’.
Sheikh Akbari said the IRIB and several cultural institutions are cooperating in organizing the event for the 15th year.
He added that it will last for ten weeks and will feature Quranic verses about themes like hope, thankfulness, family, wisdom, people’s rights, kindness, and the environment.
Every week, in various TV and radio programs a special theme will be discussed based on related Quranic verses, according to the official.
Every day a competition is held about the lessons and discussions, he went on to say.
